Read The Ninja Run’s terms and conditions. Last updated 16/10/2026.

1.1 The Ninja Run is operated by The Ninja Run Limited ("The Ninja Run", "we", "us" or "our").
1.2 These terms apply to bookings and participation in The Ninja Run events. References to "you" mean the purchaser or participant, as appropriate. Parents, legal guardians and group organisers have the responsibilities expressly described below.
1.3 Before purchasing, you must read these terms and the information for your selected ticket, venue and session. The terms accepted at booking, together with the clearly disclosed ticket conditions, form your booking agreement. Participants must also receive the relevant safety information before entering the course.
1.4 Purchasers must be aged 18 or over. Buying a ticket for another adult does not, by itself, establish that person's agreement or consent. The purchaser must provide them with these terms, and we require their participation acknowledgement before entry. The process for children is set out in section 3.
1.5 Contact us at [email protected] - our privacy policy is available at https://www.theninjarun.co.nz/privacy.
2.1 The Ninja Run is an outdoor inflatable obstacle-course experience. Ordinary sessions are recreational: you may run, walk or proceed at your own pace, subject to course rules and crew directions. You may use authorised bypasses rather than attempt an obstacle.
2.2 Optional timing and leaderboards may be available. Designated City Finals and National Finals may use a competitive race format and have additional published competition rules.
2.3 Your ticket specifies the venue, date, session and inclusions. The duration of access, entitlement to repeat laps or re-entry, and any separately charged activities or equipment will be stated before purchase.
2.4 Prices are in New Zealand dollars. Applicable GST and any booking or transaction fees will be disclosed before payment. Your booking is confirmed when payment is accepted and a booking confirmation is issued. Contact us if you do not receive it.
2.5 Bring your booking confirmation or other proof of purchase. Participants must check in and wear the correct participant wristband visibly. Spectators and non-participants must stay off the course and within permitted areas.
2.6 Arrive by the time specified in your booking information. If you arrive late, we will try to accommodate you where capacity and safe operation allow, but entry into a later session is not guaranteed.
2.7 We may substitute an advertised finish-line gift with an item of reasonably comparable value. This does not limit any rights relating to a material change to the experience purchased.
3.1 Participants must be aged five or over unless a separately advertised activity expressly permits younger children. Any different age, height or other eligibility restrictions for a particular obstacle or activity will be clearly communicated.
3.2 A participant under 16 must have permission from their parent or legal guardian. The guardian must receive these terms and the relevant risk information and provide the required participation consent. We may request reasonable evidence of age or authority.
3.3 Children under eight must be accompanied and supervised throughout the course by a paying participant aged 16 or over who is capable of providing that supervision and has permission from the child’s parent or legal guardian. The guardian’s permission must be obtained before participation.
3.4 Accompanying participants must stay close enough to monitor and assist the children for whom they are responsible, follow crew directions and ensure each child uses an authorised bypass where an obstacle is unsuitable. Crew assistance does not replace the accompanying participant's supervision.
3.5 A group or school organiser must distribute the terms and safety information, provide accurate booking details, and ensure each participant has the necessary consent before entry. We will explain the consent process when arranging the booking. An organiser may act for a participant or guardian only where authorised to do so.
3.6 Promotional photography consent and its opt-out are described in section 12. A group organiser must not assume that permission to arrange a booking authorises them to give image-use consent for every participant. Optional marketing and public timing information follow the processes in section 11.
3.7 Any specific group payment deadlines, supervision requirements, cancellation arrangements or deposit conditions must be agreed and supplied in writing before the booking is confirmed. These conditions do not override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
4.1 Participation involves physical exertion and inherent risks, including slips, trips, falls, collisions, awkward landings, inflatable movement, uneven ground and exposure to outdoor weather. Injuries can include sprains, fractures and, in serious cases, permanent injury or death. These risks cannot be eliminated completely, even when reasonable precautions are taken.
4.2 You must consider whether the activity is suitable for your health, fitness and abilities, and those of a child for whom you are responsible. Seek advice from a qualified health professional if you are unsure. You are not required to complete every obstacle or the whole course.
4.3 Participation while pregnant is not recommended. Consult your doctor.
4.4 Do not participate if illness, injury, impairment or a medical condition makes participation unsafe. Follow applicable health advice, stop if you feel unwell or unsafe, and tell a crew member if you need assistance. Inform us of a relevant assistance need where reasonably necessary for safe participation; any health information will be handled under our privacy policy.
4.5 By choosing to participate, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks described above and agree to take reasonable care for yourself and others. This acknowledgement does not release us from our own legal obligations or make you responsible for losses caused by our failure to meet those obligations.
5.1 You must attend or view the required briefing, follow signs and crew instructions, and comply with the current safety rules communicated before entry.
5.2 Follow the designated course in its marked direction. Use only authorised bypasses, exits and reroutes. Do not enter a closed obstacle, restricted area or an unmarked route.
5.3 Wait until the lane ahead is clear before climbing or sliding. Follow the obstacle-specific instructions and use only the permitted techniques. Do not push, deliberately collide with others, or engage in dangerous play.
5.4 Wear footwear permitted by the event safety rules. Rubber-soled sports shoes are recommended. Jandals and sandals are not permitted on the course. Crocs and bare feet are permitted but not recommended.
5.5 Remove jewellery, keys and sharp or dangling objects that could cause injury or damage. Clothing and equipment must be suitable for the activity and must not create a hazard.
5.6 Do not take food, drinks, drink bottles or chewing gum onto the course. Use the designated refreshment and hydration areas.
5.7 Wheeled equipment and pets are not permitted on the obstacle course. If you require a mobility aid or assistance dog, contact us before attending so we can discuss safe access and reasonable arrangements. This clause does not exclude any rights under applicable law.
5.8 Use designated toilets. Treat guests, volunteers and crew respectfully, and take care of equipment and facilities. Harassment, abusive behaviour, intentional damage and dangerous conduct are not permitted.
5.9 Alcohol is not permitted at the event. Do not participate while affected by alcohol, drugs or any substance that impairs safe participation. Lawful medication is not prohibited, but you must consider any effects on your ability to participate safely.
5.10 Tell a crew member promptly about an injury, damaged equipment, unsafe condition or a person needing assistance. Stop or leave an obstacle when directed.
6.1 We may delay entry, limit capacity, close an obstacle, direct you to a bypass, or stop participation where reasonably necessary for safety or orderly operation.
6.2 We may refuse entry or require a person to leave for serious or repeated breaches of safety instructions, dangerous conduct, harassment, intoxication, invalid admission or failure to meet disclosed eligibility requirements. Where appropriate, we will explain the issue and allow it to be corrected.
6.3 If removal results from your serious misconduct or a breach within your control, a discretionary refund will generally not be provided. We will assess the circumstances fairly. This does not limit statutory rights or determine the outcome where our own failure caused the issue.
6.4 If we refuse entry because we cannot safely provide an agreed service or accommodation, we will discuss an appropriate alternative or refund, subject to your legal rights.
7.1 Tickets may be freely gifted to another person without a transfer fee and without notifying The Ninja Run. Give the recipient the booking confirmation, these terms and the relevant event information. The recipient must meet the ticket’s eligibility requirements, provide the required participation acknowledgement and any guardian consent, and follow the photography consent and opt-out process. Only one person may use each admission entitlement. Gifting does not change the booked venue, date or session.
7.2 Eligible date or session amendments may be made through the link in your booking confirmation, subject to availability and the conditions disclosed for your ticket. Bookings may be amended up to one hour before the booked start time. Contact customer support if the link fails or you need help.
7.3 If you cannot attend, you may gift your ticket under section 7.1 or use any available booking-amendment option. For enquiries, contact customer support with your booking reference.
7.4 We do not provide refunds or automatic cancellation credits when you choose to cancel or cannot attend, including because of illness, injury, a change of plans or weather where the event can still operate. Tickets may instead be gifted as described above. This policy does not limit a refund or other remedy required by law, or the refund arrangements where we cannot host the event in section 8.
7.5 If neither you nor a person to whom you gift the ticket attends the booked session, the unused admission is forfeited without a discretionary refund or automatic credit. This is subject to section 8 and any rights required by law.
7.6 Nothing in this section restricts a refund or other remedy you are entitled to under law, or the separate arrangements for organiser cancellation and substantial disruption in section 8.
8.1 This is an outdoor event. Ordinary weather changes do not automatically prevent operation. We will assess conditions and may delay, suspend, shorten or cancel an event or session where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
8.2 Relevant circumstances may include severe weather, lightning, flooding, natural disasters, emergency directions, venue unavailability or serious equipment failure. This list does not determine whether a cause is legally outside our control, excuse inadequate preparation or remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8.3 We will communicate changes as promptly as reasonably practicable through the contact details supplied at booking and appropriate event notices. For a temporary suspension, we will explain whether and when participation can resume and any alternative arrangements.
8.4 Reasonable minor adjustments to the course, available obstacles or start time do not automatically entitle you to a refund where the experience remains substantially as purchased. If a change materially reduces the experience, we will consider the extent of the disruption and provide any remedy required by law.
8.5 If we are unable to host your booked event and cancel it, including because of weather, you are entitled to a refund of the price paid for the cancelled admission and associated booking fees. We may offer a transfer or credit as an alternative, but you do not have to accept it instead of the refund.
8.6 If a session is interrupted after participation begins, we will explain any available continuation or replacement arrangements and provide any remedy required by law.
8.7 Refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method and purchaser. We will tell you the expected processing timeframe. We will not require you to accept a gift card instead of a monetary refund where a monetary refund is legally due.
8.8 Travel, accommodation and other arrangements are your responsibility. We do not promise to reimburse those costs if an event changes, but this does not exclude any compensation or other remedy required by law.
9.1 If you become injured or unwell, notify a crew member and follow reasonable first-aid or emergency instructions. We may arrange reasonably necessary emergency assistance if you cannot communicate or an urgent response is required. Where practicable, we will contact a child's parent or guardian.
9.2 You are responsible for charges properly payable by you for your own medical treatment or emergency transport, subject to applicable law and any available funding or insurance. This does not make you responsible for our costs or liability arising from our failure to meet legal obligations.
9.3 Your ticket does not itself provide a promise of personal accident, medical, travel or property insurance. Consider your own insurance needs.
10. Responsibility, property and legal rights
10.1 We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing our services and comply with applicable health and safety obligations. You must take reasonable care and comply with the responsibilities set out in these terms.
10.2 Keep personal belongings secure and avoid bringing valuables onto the course. We do not provide secure storage unless expressly advertised. Responsibility for loss or damage will depend on the circumstances and applicable law; we do not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10.3 Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, Privacy Act 2020 or other applicable legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
10.4 These terms do not transfer our health and safety duties to participants, parents, guardians or group organisers. They do not require anyone to indemnify us for our own breach of legal duties.
11.1 We collect and use information reasonably necessary to administer bookings, confirm eligibility and consent, operate the event safely, provide requested timing services and respond to enquiries. Our privacy policy explains the information collected, purposes, recipients, retention and your rights to request access or correction.
11.2 We may send booking confirmations, safety information and event-change notices using the contact details provided. These essential service communications are separate from optional promotional messages.
11.3 Promotional email or SMS will be sent only where we have a lawful basis for doing so. Our proposed process is a separate optional marketing selection. You may unsubscribe through the relevant message facility or contact us. We will honour unsubscribe requests within the required timeframe.
11.4 Information shared on the leaderboards is limited to First Name, Initial Letter of Family Name, Age, Gender, Time.
12.1 We or our authorised photographers may take photographs, videos and audio recordings during our activities to promote our events and services.
12.2 By accepting these terms for yourself, or as a parent or legal guardian consenting for your child, you consent to The Ninja Run Limited using photographs, videos and audio recordings of you or that child taken during our activities to promote our events and services, including on our websites, social media channels and advertising, without payment. You may opt out before participation or withdraw consent at any time under sections 12.3–12.5. Opting out does not affect your right to participate. Someone purchasing for another adult cannot give that adult’s image-use consent merely by making the booking.
12.3 To opt out for yourself or your child, tell the check-in team before entering the course. You may also tell a photographer at any time. If you are incidentally captured and you identify your or your child on any of our public channels, we will exclude that content from promotional publication or edit it so you are no longer identifiable. For children, we will take account of their wishes and ability to make decisions. A school or group organiser may communicate consent or an opt-out only where specifically authorised by the participant or guardian.
12.4 You may withdraw consent for future promotional use or request removal of published content featuring you at any time by contacting [email protected]. A parent or legal guardian may also make a request concerning their child. Provide a link, screenshot or sufficient details to locate the content and identify the person concerned. We may request reasonable information to confirm identity or authority.
12.5 Once we have sufficient information, we will remove the relevant content, or edit it so the person is no longer identifiable, from websites, social media accounts and active digital advertising under our control as soon as reasonably practicable. We aim to complete this within 10 working days and will confirm the outcome or explain any delay. Flag urgent safety or privacy concerns so we can prioritise the request. We will also take reasonable steps to prevent further promotional use of the identified content.
12.6 We cannot guarantee removal of copies independently downloaded, shared or republished by others, or copies retained in search engine caches. Where we have supplied content to a promotional partner, we will ask them to remove it or stop using it. Printed materials already distributed cannot be recalled. These practical limits do not excuse us from obligations relating to our own disclosures.
12.7 Guests may take personal photographs in permitted areas, provided doing so does not create a hazard or intrude on others' privacy. We may reasonably restrict photography for safety or privacy reasons. Follow course rules about carrying or using devices.
12.8 Nothing in this section limits rights under the Privacy Act 2020.
13.1 Timing services depend on equipment and correct use of the timing device. Tell the timing team promptly about missing or incorrect results. We will reasonably investigate and correct verified errors, but cannot guarantee recovery of every missing time.
13.2 A leaderboard time or placing is subject to validation under the published competition rules. Qualification and invitation criteria, categories and any National Finals pathway will be published before relevant qualifying participation.
13.3 Separate competition rules will address eligible ages, qualifying laps, required obstacles, bypasses, timing failures, ties, penalties, equipment return and the process and deadline for raising a result query.
13.4 City Finals may include mixed-age races or age-based adjustments only where the format and basis of adjustments have been explained before that race. A community spectacle race must be clearly distinguished from any race used to determine formal category placings or National Finals qualification.
13.5 We may make reasonable safety or operational adjustments to a competition. Changes affecting qualification, handicaps or scoring will be explained and applied fairly. The fact that an event is intended to be fun does not remove our obligation to deliver advertised competition features or protect statutory rights.
13.6 Participants that do not follow the course correctly may have their timing device confiscated by the course crew.
13.7 All timing devices must be returned to the finish line crew after the first completed lap. Only the first lap is timed.
13.8 By agreeing to wear a timing device, the participant consents to supplying their full name, contact details, age and gender. The participant also consents to their first name, first initial of family name, age and gender and race time on our leaderboards, websites and other public channels.
14.1 We may update these terms for future bookings. The version accepted when your booking was made will continue to govern that booking unless a change is agreed with you or required by law.
14.2 We may update reasonable safety and operating instructions for an existing event where necessary, and will communicate relevant changes before participation. This does not give us an unrestricted right to change the price, refund rights or other material booking conditions retrospectively.
14.3 If a necessary change materially affects your purchased experience, section 8 and your applicable legal rights will apply.
15.1 Raise an immediate safety or service concern with the event team so we can try to resolve it promptly. For booking, refund, privacy or other complaints, contact [email protected] with your booking reference and relevant details. We will acknowledge the complaint and explain the next steps.
15.2 Our complaint process does not prevent you from exercising legal rights or approaching the Disputes Tribunal, Privacy Commissioner or another appropriate body.
15.3 New Zealand law applies to these terms, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Before participating, I confirm that I have received and read the relevant terms and safety information, understand the inherent risks described, and will follow the Ninja Code and crew directions. Where I am providing consent as a parent or legal guardian, I confirm my authority and consent to the child’s participation. I understand the promotional photography consent in section 12 and my right to opt out without affecting participation or request removal later. Optional marketing and public timing information have their own permission arrangements.
