Recently released child poverty statistics show a confronting truth: 156,000 Kiwi children are currently living in poverty. Right now, more than 3,000 children nationwide are on Variety’s waiting list - hoping for a sponsor to step up. In the Waikato alone, over 140 children are still waiting for support.

The Ninja Run is part of the NinjaVerse, and at our core we believe humans are Born to Be Alive - to move, to play, to belong, and to believe in themselves.
Our goal is simple and ambitious: to help lift every one of those 140+ Waikato kids off the waiting list, and play a small part in helping them believe they are born to be alive too.
At Ninja Valley Hamilton and Christchurch, we host an annual Variety Open Day & BBQ, welcoming up to 500 children and families for a few hours of free play in the Ninja Arena, followed by a shared BBQ. These days are about more than fun - they’re about inclusion, confidence, connection, and joy.
